A Great Tythe Barn Winter Wedding…

So Holly’s first correspondence with me is from Australia for a short engagement wedding, 2 months down the line. I look at my diary and I can DEFINITELY fit in a trip to Oz and yay! I’m finally global! Only if only! The second email is to say the wedding is in Gloucestershire…haha, still a definite yay from me, I’ve got a good jumps and I absolutely LOVE winter weddings!

I love Holly’s excitement and fun in her emails. Her and Tim are super laid back and just want some natural, candid shots of the day, nothing too stuffy. Perfect. I don’t meet them until the morning of the wedding and it turns out they’re both stunners too. Double perfect 😉

Their time back in the UK is brief, so for me, I make myself as less seen today as possible. I realise how precious their minutes are today, with their closest, loved friends and family and there is A LOT of them! It is at every wedding but these guys are on even more of a time budget than most, so I want to be one of the people they chat to least as possible (even though thats tough as they’re so bloody nice!). Also, I felt so guilty taking Holly out in the cold for some couple shots! I think I had 4 layers on and still felt it. Luckily, they’re so natural together and so clearly in love, we got some corkers in the bag in no time.

They absolutely lucked out with the weather. It was incredibly beautiful and everything you could wish for from a winter Cotswold scene. The foggy mist lasted all day and was cold enough to be biting but not too cold that nobody could get there! Holly and the girls were super heroes and withstood the temp like pros! Talking about the girls, OMG, those dresses! absolutely gorgeous!!

I think every wedding has a moment. Something you haven’t seen before, it can be physical or emotional. Just something that stops me and makes me think. This wedding, was the shot of Holly and her Grandfather. Maybe my Pops is a big influence for how I see things now but it literally felt like time stopped still. Seeing the bond between them was so moving. As I took a couple of frames, it felt very special and makes me very thankful for my job. When you get to the shot, maybe take a sec.
