Notley Abbey Wedding

Wedding photography at an Autumnal Notley Abbey Wedding…

Sarah and Matthew found me from shooting a friend of theirs weddings (oohhhh, that’s bad English, no!? haha, not my forte!) a year ago at Hyde Barn. I have a sense of panic when someone says we’ve met before as my memory is so terrible! I’d never shot a Notley Abbey Wedding before and with every new venue, I get so excited to see what it’s like and what opportunities we had ahead of us! You book through a company called Bijou Wedding Venues, and it looks like they have several venues in the UK and France (I’m available to be a French Wedding Photographer too!)

Wow. Like simply Wow. You’re greeted by a beautiful tree lined drive (which incidentally, was planted by Vivienne Leigh!! Played Scarlet O’Hara in Gone with the Wind! Crazy fact!) that just leads you to such a beautiful location! Notley’s a real nice mix of opulence, and grandeur with lots of light and modern uncluttered interior. As far as I know, it isn’t cheap but when you’re there, you can so see and feel why. Sarah and Matthew had their wedding inside. These guys have a LOT of friends, so it was pretty cosy! The wedding breakfast was then held in The Monks Refectory, which was the absolute opposite of the small ceremony room. This is jaw dropping! 3 chandeliers hang from the high ceiling and the space is atmospheric. The day was seamless (once Sarah was ready! slight panic stations in the morning at the final few minutes! haha! Same thing happened with ours. You can have all the time in the world in the morning but it’s incredible how quickly that last half hour goes!) and totally looked after by the planners at the Abbey and a big thank you to them for looking after me on my break too!

Sarah’s dress was from Serendipity in Weedo. The gorgeous dress was a Pronovias, and Sarah looked incredible in it! (but I did have to remind her a couple of times to get her hands out of her pockets! haha, I too love a dress with pockets but in a picture, it looks like somebody cut your hands off!). Flowers, the girls did them selves! Skills! The cake was made by a local lady to Brackley, Sally Prentice. Sophie and Kelly were the M.U.A.

Thank you for taking the time to read the blog and a massive thank you to Matthew, Sarah and their friends and family for having me as part of your day. I hope your love the images as much as I loved taking them! Please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom. If you’re planning a Notley Abbey Wedding, then I would love to hear from you. Naomi x
