Chateau La Durantie

Wedding photography at a Chateau La Durantie wedding…

I fell in love with Jenny a little bit, right from the off. She writes a very funny email which always made me smirk, so I totally knew I’d love to be part of this wedding if I could….(Oh, and she’d mentioned something about it being in a Chateau place in the Dordogne or something. Not that that had an influence)

Chateau la Durantie, my goodness, what a venue! Jenny & Mart wanted somewhere abroad, which is easily accessible for their friends and family. Getting married at Chateau La Durantie is fab and so easy for your guests. It has loads of airports it would seem, all within about 1hr’s drive. Most people flew into Bordeaux airport but I chose Bergerac…go there!!! it’s like flying into someones back garden and walking through their shed! It’s the most bizarre airport I’ve been to! The Chateau also has loads of accommodation on site, so there’s lots of room for people to stay or there’s the local town of Lanouaille for an overspill.

The day was incredible and so much fun and I had the pleasure of meeting ‘wotalegend’ my most favourite bridesmaid to date. Sandwiched in between two ropey days of weather and a hefty storm in the evening, the sun absolutely shone for them. It did mean slightly clammy couple shots and a couple of shirt changes for Mart but totally worth it! (and actually a great tip if you are getting married in the hot sun gents, take a couple of back ups!). They absolutely knew how to party, even when the storm hit, which threw the power out at the Chateau, they continued by candle light and a portable speaker.

This is another weighty blog on the images, but I really don’t want to chop this down as I really want to show you more of a full day from them.

Once again, I pinch myself as to how lucky I feel to be able to witness these days. Jen & Mart, you’re so bloody lovely and I thank you with your lush friends and family for looking after me (maybe not your Dad for making me dance though 😆). If you’re planning a Chateau La Durantie wedding, I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you and please do enjoy the images ❤️.
