Chateau La Durantie

Chateau la Durantie, my goodness, what a venue.

When Jenny & Mart got engaged, all they wanted from their wedding, was somewhere abroad which is easily accessible for their friends and family. No stress, no spotlight. They wanted a day that was simple, beautiful and focused in what mattered most – their love for each other and the joy of sharing it with the people they cherish most.

Welcome, Chateau La Durantie. Plucked out of a fairytale. It’s peaceful, elegant, warm and welcoming. Naturally beautiful rather than a lavish retreat. Ceremony and reception all in one space with plenty of accommodation on site too, so no-one had to worry about transportation on the day and could head back to a room where needed. Let me tell you…it was HOT! So actually, having your room close by for a quick shower and freshen up, is incredible!

Chateau La Durantie has loads of airports, all within about 1hr’s drive. Most people flew into Bordeaux airport but I got to Bergerac…side note – this is a very bizarre airport. The Chateau also has loads of accommodation on site, so there’s lots of room for people to stay or there’s the local town of Lanouaille for an overspill.

The day was incredible and I had the pleasure of meeting ‘wotalegend’ my most favourite bridesmaid to date. Sandwiched in between two ropey days of weather and a hefty storm in the evening, the sun absolutely shone for them. It did mean slightly clammy couple shots and a couple of shirt changes for Mart but totally worth it! (and actually a great tip if you are getting married in the hot sun gents, take a couple of back ups!). They absolutely knew how to party, even when the storm hit, which threw the power out at the Chateau, they continued by candle light and a portable speaker.

I pinch myself as to how lucky I feel to be able to witness these days. Jen & Mart, you’re so bloody lovely and I thank you with your lush friends and family for looking after me (maybe not your Dad for making me dance though 😆). If you’re planning a Chateau La Durantie wedding, I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you and please do enjoy the images ❤️.
